About Me

Who Am I?

MikeMy name is Michael Prestia. I was born and raised in Sarasota, FL with my mother, stepfather, older brother, and younger sister. I am a music and movie fanatic and enjoy playing all sorts of video games. My favorite games include the Metroid and Halo franchises as well as Rock Band. I was introduced to programming during my sophomore year of high school and have been interested in coding my own games ever since. Over the years I have gone from making an ASCII version of Pong to using XNA to create Hog Wars, a game included in my portfolio.

I am currently pursuing an M.S. in Interactive Entertainment at the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy (FIEA). So far I have made five rapid prototypes for games, all of which can be found in my portfolio and on this site.

I was recently appointed as Lead Programmer on Drifters, a large scale game on which I will be working for the rest of my time at FIEA.

I will soon be seeking a programming internship with a game company for the Fall 2009 semester (starting any time after August 7th).
