Michael Prestia

About Me

My name is Michael Prestia. I was born and raised in Sarasota, FL with my mother, stepfather, older brother, and younger sister. I am a music and video game fanatic. My favorite games include Super Metroid, BioShock, Braid, Rock Band and Halo. I was introduced to programming during my sophomore year of high school and have been interested in coding my own games ever since.

I graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2008 with a B.S. in Computer Science. I made my first game, Hog Wars, during my senior year using XNA. My experience creating this game is what convinced me that I wanted to be a game programmer.

I continued my education at the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy (FIEA) where I had the opportunity to create several rapid prototypes and games with a group of some very talented people. After a lot of hard work and countless sleepless nights, I graduated with an M.S. in Interactive Entertainment in December of 2009.

After FIEA, I worked for 360Ed, an educational game company located in downtown Orlando. At 360Ed, I worked on both Conspiracy Code, an American History game, and Conspiracy Code: Mindbender, an intensive reading game. For more information about these products, see my portfolio page.

I am currently employed by Electronic Arts at the Tiburon studio in Orlando, Florida. I am a gameplay programmer on the NBA game that will be launched next Fall.
